American Internet Tech donates to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (April 2024)

In the realm of pediatric healthcare, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital stands as a beacon of hope and innovation. St. Jude's has made significant strides in its pursuit of combating childhood cancer. One notable breakthrough involves the development of novel immunotherapies that harness the body's immune system to target and destroy cancer cells. This promising approach, pioneered by researchers at St. Jude's, has shown remarkable efficacy in treating certain types of pediatric cancers, offering new hope to young patients and their families. Furthermore, the hospital continues to lead collaborative efforts with institutions worldwide to accelerate the pace of discovery and bring lifesaving treatments to children everywhere.

Each year, on April 7th, the world observes World Health Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about global health issues and mobilizing action to address them. Established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948, World Health Day serves as a reminder of the importance of health for all individuals, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. In the face of ongoing challenges, World Health Day serves as a call to action for governments, healthcare providers, communities, and individuals to prioritize health equity and work towards achieving universal health coverage. It is an opportunity to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote health and well-being for all, leaving no one behind. WHO supports the St. Jude Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer, which aims to cure at least 60% of children with six of the most common kinds of cancer worldwide by the year 2030.

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has announced a new partnership agreement with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help strengthen equitable access to cancer medications for children in Latin America and the Caribbean. The four-year agreement will focus on the provision of quality medicines to strengthen childhood cancer care services and medicine management systems. It aims to improve outcomes for childhood cancer, which affects more than 47,000 children and takes over 12,000 lives each year in the Region.

American Internet Tech proceeds to one more monthly donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital because together, we can strive to make health a priority for all and pave the way towards a brighter, more equitable future.
